Vice Rectorate for Academic Affairs

The Vice Rectorate for Academic Affairs is one of the fundamental pillars of the University of Hafr Al Batin, as it plays a pivotal role in directly overseeing the educational process and the academic aspects related to faculty members. In accordance with the organizational structure, the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs reports directly to the University President and is supported by a team comprising specialized advisors, supervisors of the units affiliated with the vice rectorate, the Director of the Vice Rector’s Office, and a number of staff members who contribute to organizing and accomplishing the vice rectorate’s tasks.
The vice rectorate strives to achieve its vision and mission by providing an integrated educational environment that contributes to equipping male and female students with the knowledge and skills they need to achieve their professional aspirations and meet labor market requirements. In this context, specialized committees have been formed to carefully review the academic programs offered by the colleges, with the aim of developing them and launching new high-quality programs that align with national development plans, serve the community, and meet labor market needs.


The duties of the Vice Rectorate for Academic Affairs are summarized as follows:


1.Providing support and assistance to colleges and supporting deanships to create an educational and academic environment that fosters creativity and excellence, by preparing students scientifically and practically in line with labor market needs.
2.Supervising, following up on, and guiding all deanships, colleges, centers, and departments affiliated with the vice rectorate toward implementing their objectives and achieving their missions.
3.Preparing strategic plans and supervising the plans of the entities affiliated with the vice rectorate, including deanships, colleges, units, offices, and committees.
4.Developing existing academic programs and study plans in line with labor market requirements and contemporary developments across the university’s colleges at the bachelor’s level and below, as well as proposing academic specializations.
5.Supervising the implementation of admission and registration policies at the university in accordance with the academic calendar approved by the University Council and the relevant regulations and rules.
6.Communicating directly with ministries, agencies, and public and private institutions inside and outside the Kingdom in matters falling within the vice rectorate’s scope of competence and within the limits of applicable regulations and rules.
7.Developing the performance of faculty members in the university’s colleges in line with technological advancements across all fields.
8.Developing and introducing assessment forms and tools for all aspects of the educational process.
9.Approving development projects and programs for all university sectors related to educational and academic affairs.
10.Proposing systems, regulations, and rules related to academic activities at the university, and following up on their implementation after approval.
11.Establishing academic cooperation with various leading universities and scientific institutions locally and regionally to benefit from their experiences in developing the university’s academic programs and activities.
12.Developing enrichment programs for gifted male and female students and students with special needs.
13.Representing the university in conferences, seminars, and regional and international committees related to academic activities.
14.Preparing periodic reports on the vice rectorate’s activities, achievements, and development proposals, and submitting them to His Excellency the University President.
15.Forming educational and administrative committees to carry out tasks required by the entities affiliated with the vice rectorate in a manner that serves the interest of work.
16.Carrying out any other tasks assigned to the vice rectorate within its area of competence.

•    Enhancing the performance efficiency of supporting deanships, colleges, and units affiliated with the vice rectorate.
•    Activating and improving the efficiency of academic advising.
•    Promoting positive communication between the university and its graduates, and benefiting from feedback.
•    Strengthening the relationship between the university and relevant community institutions.

The Vice Rectorate for Academic Affairs seeks continuous improvement and development across all academic programs offered by the university, with the aim of meeting labor market requirements by enhancing performance efficiency in the university’s colleges and providing an appropriate educational environment for both students and faculty members. This contributes to the university’s success and the achievement of its objectives. The vice rectorate is also keen to establish work on an institutional basis that promotes a culture of teamwork and fosters serious efforts toward creativity and development. In addition, the vice rectorate is committed to fulfilling the requirements and standards of academic accreditation, which represents one of the main guiding principles of its activities.
