University History
The University of Hafr Al Batin is located in Hafr Al Batin Governorate, one of the governorates of the Eastern Province in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The university was established pursuant to Royal Decree No. (20937), dated 02/06/1435 AH, corresponding to 03/04/2014 AD. It incorporated branches that had previously been affiliated with two prestigious universities: King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, and the University of Dammam, currently known as Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University.
This academic integration provided the university with diverse expertise and a solid scientific foundation, enabling it to achieve distinguished accomplishments in record time and contribute to building a competitive academic strength.
Since its establishment, the university has sought to fulfill the aspirations of the wise leadership through a clear strategic plan with well-defined objectives. The plan focuses on preparing graduates who uphold Islamic values and principles and possess the specialized knowledge and skills that qualify them to contribute to comprehensive development and participate in building the nation.
The university has adopted ambitious educational approaches aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, focusing on enhancing the quality of education according to the highest standards, in order to prepare graduates with high professional competencies who are capable of meeting labor market needs and the demands of future professions. It has also worked to develop the scientific research ecosystem, strengthen its role in community service, build effective local and international partnerships, develop human capital, advance digital transformation, and improve operational efficiency.
As a result of these efforts, the university obtained full unconditional institutional accreditation from the Education and Training Evaluation Commission until 2029. It has also achieved a distinguished presence in several international rankings. In addition, its students have attained advanced positions in professional examinations and received prestigious local and international awards.
The university continues its journey toward improving the quality of its executive operations and developing its programs, in order to strengthen its position among universities in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
