Under the patronage of His Excellency the University President, Prof. Dr. Khalid bin Bani Al-Harbi, and in the presence of His Excellency the Director of the Armed Forces Hospital in the Northern Region, Major General Abdullah bin Ali Al-Thumali, the University of Hafr Al Batin, represented by the Vice Rectorate for Academic Affairs, launched the Student Wellness Initiative, in the presence of university leaders, staff, students, and a number of representatives from the Armed Forces Hospital in the Northern Region.
This initiative comes in partnership with the Armed Forces Hospital in the Northern Region as part of the university’s efforts to promote students’ physical, psychological, and social health, contributing to the creation of an integrated academic and health environment that enhances the quality of university life, supports excellence and achievement, and aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to improve quality of life.
The initiative targets 400 female students from the university residing in King Khalid Military City. As part of the initiative, 97 personalized programs were implemented for beneficiary students, more than 460 psychological screenings were conducted by the university’s Mental Health Promotion Committee, and over 1,072 health measurements were carried out for the beneficiary students.
It is worth noting that the Student Wellness Initiative is the first of its kind among universities. It is not merely a health project, but rather an integrated vision that addresses multiple aspects of students’ lives in line with the comprehensive concept of wellness. It goes beyond the traditional concept of health to encompass various dimensions of human life through a range of health, psychological, and awareness programs and services aimed at improving students’ quality of life across several key areas. These areas seek to develop well-rounded students who are capable of achieving academic success, engaging positively with their communities, and managing their lives with health and happiness by activating wellness in its psychological, social, professional, financial, and spiritual dimensions.
On the sidelines of the ceremony held for this occasion, His Excellency the University President, Prof. Dr. Khalid bin Bani Al-Harbi, held a meeting with His Excellency the Director of the Armed Forces Hospital in the Northern Region, Major General Abdullah bin Ali Al-Thumali, in the presence of a number of leaders, to discuss the Student Wellness Initiative, ways to enhance its sustainability, and mechanisms to ensure that its services reach the largest possible number of students.
