The General Administration of Legal Affairs aims, within the framework of the university’s policy and administrative structure, to achieve the required and desired model of excellence in all university work and activities. This is based on its role, in cooperation with the university’s various administrations, in ensuring that all tasks and procedures comply with applicable laws and regulations and are implemented correctly.
Excellence in providing legal opinions and delivering the best legal consultations in all academic and administrative aspects and for the university’s beneficiaries, so that the administration becomes a beacon for consolidating the principles of justice, transparency, and equality.
Consolidating the principle of the rule of law, respecting regulations, and ensuring their proper application in order to sustain comprehensive development and keep pace with the university’s vision and mission.
- Representing the university before courts and judicial authorities, with its work being focused on seeking the truth and granting rights to their rightful owners and beneficiaries.
- Ensuring the soundness and validity of all legal procedures referred by the university’s senior management.
- Providing legal consultations and expressing legal opinions on matters presented by the university’s senior management.
- Ensuring that the university’s internal regulations are aligned with applicable laws, characterized by the spirit of desired justice, and achieve balance between rights and duties in order to create an optimal work environment.
- Verifying the validity and legality of agreements or contracts concluded with entities related to the nature of the university’s work.
- Confirming that all university activities comply with laws and regulations and are carried out within the framework of their correct application.
- Ensuring that administrative decisions issued by the university’s various units conform to laws and regulations, and drawing attention to any violations that may affect such decisions.
The General Administration of Legal Affairs is also the competent authority for providing opinions and advice regarding the validity of applying laws, regulations, and instructions, and it reports directly to His Excellency the University President. The Legal Administration was approved as part of the university’s administrative formations as of the budget of the fiscal year 1436 AH.
The importance of the General Administration of Legal Affairs does not stem only from being the administration entrusted with applying laws and regulations, providing legal advice, and performing its various assigned duties. Rather, its importance also lies in promoting awareness of the importance of respecting these laws due to their impact on the spirit of the university’s knowledge-based community.
From this standpoint, the General Administration of Legal Affairs spares no effort in continuously working on development that reflects positively on the role entrusted to it. This is achieved by providing accurate legal opinions on all matters referred to it, expressing opinions on various legal issues, reviewing all contracts and agreements and formulating them in a legal manner, representing and handling cases before judicial authorities, drafting decisions and letters that require an in-depth legal perspective, and performing other assigned tasks. The General Administration of Legal Affairs also plays an important role in the university, working side by side with other administrations in a unified team spirit to achieve the vision and strategy established by the university.
