Medical and Applied Research Center

The Medical and Applied Research Center at the University of Hafr Al Batin was established in 2024 pursuant to Resolution No. (45/075/5492), dated 23/3/1445 AH, to serve as the entity responsible for medical and applied research in Hafr Al Batin Governorate and its affiliated cities. The establishment of the Center reflects the University of Hafr Al Batin’s commitment to serving the public interest by promoting scholarly publication among faculty members, scientists, and researchers, and by strengthening the status of scientific and applied research in medicine and various scientific disciplines, as well as contributing to the development of the healthcare sector at the local, regional, and global levels.

Providing significant contributions through distinguished scientific research in the fields of applied medical sciences, and offering a stimulating work environment that fosters creativity and innovation, as well as building local and international research partnerships to contribute to healthcare development and community service in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

  • Transferring basic research from laboratories to clinical trials, and developing solutions to advance knowledge of disease mechanisms and diagnostic and therapeutic systems.

The Center seeks to support all research aimed at addressing real-world problems faced by society in the health sector, or contributing to the human development of healthcare personnel and providing community service. It also has a future-oriented plan focused on cooperation, research infrastructure, research activity, national and international collaboration, community service, continuing education, and highlighting the Center’s role and status within the University, as well as supporting research conducted by health sciences students. The Center further seeks to advance the research level through the establishment of dedicated research projects and programs, in alignment with the objectives of the University of Hafr Al Batin.

In line with the University of Hafr Al Batin’s strategic goals, the Center aims to support and enhance the University’s strategic objectives in developing capabilities and improving the quality of scientific research for students, staff, and partner institutions, which seek to align with strategic plans and Saudi Vision 2030 for national development. The Center is also committed to advancing scientific research objectives to improve health, prevent and treat diseases, and deepen the understanding of human and animal physiology.

In line with the Vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (2030), and based on the provisions of the new Saudi Universities Law issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, may God protect him, which has brought about a remarkable qualitative transformation in the trajectory of Saudi universities founded on empowerment, excellence, and quality, and in contribution to the development of the research process, and in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 as well as the strategic plan, vision, and mission of the University of Hafr Al Batin, the Medical and Applied Research Center was established as a leading entity in conducting health research. It stems from the University’s mission of serving the community and aims to be a national and global reference that adopts best research practices.

The Center strives for excellence in diverse medical research across various disciplines and seeks to enhance the status of scientific and applied research in the medical field at the local, regional, and global levels. It draws its impact from the distinguished standing of the University of Hafr Al Batin and its rapid progress toward an academic and research environment in which accurate scientific information serves as a cornerstone for building innovative scientific strength and a knowledge-based economy. The Medical Research Center is also considered the first of its kind in the Hafr Al Batin region and its affiliated cities, which have a distinctive character in terms of research and community healthcare services in the fields of basic and clinical medical research.
