Celebrating World Book Day and World English Language Day

As part of its keenness to promote culture and knowledge and spread the love of reading among members of the university community, the General Administration of Knowledge Resources, in cooperation with the College of Arts - Department of English Language, organized a series of distinguished cultural events in all branch libraries of the university, in celebration of World Book Day and International English Language Day, which falls on April 23 of each year.

The events witnessed wide interaction from students and faculty, as corners were allocated to display and distribute a large and diverse group of free books, including various scientific, literary and cultural specializations, with the aim of making knowledge available to everyone and motivating the academic community to read and learn.

The events also included awareness-raising activities about the importance of books and the English language in building societies and promoting global cultural communication, in addition to organizing light competitions and attractive discussion sessions, which added an atmosphere of enthusiasm and interaction within the corridors of libraries.

This initiative comes within a series of ongoing efforts made by the General Administration of Knowledge Resources, to enhance the library’s role as a cultural and community center that contributes to supporting the university’s educational and knowledge process.
